The Trail 6 is Cannondale's do-everything hardtail — the bike that gets people properly into mountain biking without asking them to spend a fortune to find out if they like it.
The SmartForm C3 alloy frame carries geometry that is stable at speed but still easy to throw around on tight singletrack. Up front, an SR Suntour XCM RL gives 100mm of travel with a hydraulic lockout, so you can firm the fork up for road sections and climbs and open it again when the trail turns rough.
Gearing is a 2x8 Shimano setup — Acera Shadow rear, Altus front, M315 Rapidfire shifters — across a 36/22 Prowheel crank. Sixteen gears means a genuinely low bottom end for steep, loose climbs. Tektro hydraulic discs handle braking with far better control and modulation than the mechanical brakes usually found at this price.
Rolling on 29" wheels with WTB Comp tyres, it carries speed well over roots and rocks. This one is the Medium frame in Slate / Black. Suited to trail riding, forest tracks and rough commutes alike.
